First off I was noticing that really old post about Van Helsing down there. I was trying to be objective. Although it is most likely to late the movie is shit please don't give the studio any reason to think people like it.

*I own an insane amount of CD's. A lot of which have been purchased on various trips in the discount bins of records stores. Some of these CD's will go eons with out being listened to and maybe even eventually sold. Some of them get listened to are not bad and get put on shelf sometimes for years at a time until one day I bring it down again to see if it moves me any more then it did before. In those 1 in 100 times of a second listen I not only find that I enjoy the disc more then I do the first time but I find something that blows me away. This is usually due to not being in the right mind set for the music when I first get it or make an assumption on what I will get based on many factors cover art, word of mouth, one song I have heard etc. One of these rare gems that has come to me as of late is from the Deluxetone Rockets-Greenroom Blues. Sadly the band from what I understand no longer exists. The album is a great mix Rocka/Pschyobilly,Ol' School R&R and Cow Punk with some great dark overtones. Even when the band dips into the Tooth and Nail (the bands label) pre requisite religious fervor the songs still carry enough style to be damn good. They turn in cover of the Cure's Love Song that would make Mr. Hexum poop his hemp panties. Defiantly worth picking up.

*Through the links section of From Parts Unknown I was lucky enough to be exposed to blog for the folks at Fwak! Animation. Fwak is the team that has brought us most notably the Saturday morn extravaganza that is Mucha Lucha. I have been a fan of the show for some time but honestly was not very familiar with it's creators until finding this. The blog is an excellent source of info from great music to incredible art to all other nuggets of randomness in between strange/retro/pop culture. Also if you have interest in the Fwaks doings it is a great way to keep a breast.

*Speaking of FPU Mr. Unknown's blog is a another cool place for find out info on general weirdness in film and in life as well as a place to follow some of the cool stuff going on the hooded wrestling world. Mr Unknown has also started another venture to touch on his other great love that being the oh so mysterious non turtle tainted Ninja mythos known as Ninja 80. Both are worth checking out.

* If you are a blog whore like myself you should sign up for Bloglines. That's all I will say. I have been waiting for something like this for a long time.

*Want some general off the wall subversion and weirdness check out WFMU's Beware of the Blog. You will get whole albums of some of the craziest stuff like Bulgarian psychedelic Metal or a whole CD devoted to songs associated with Napoleon and XIV's There Coming to Take Me Away.
