There's "no bigger fan" of 1970s sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter" than Ice Cube, so who better to play the wisecracking teacher in a film adaptation of the series that launched John Travolta's career? The rapper/actor will also produce the film.

Oh come freakin on. Look I think Ice Cube is a great actor I really do. I am a fan of the Barbershop movies and Boys In The Hood and so on. He has done a wonderful job of transition from music to movies. But come on. Leave it alone. It's not necessary and it's not like I can say well he was enticed by a fat pay check cause he's producing the damn thing. One of the beauties of Kaplan's Kotter was the lack of "coolness" but with out the knowledge of having that lack of "coolness". It was a man showing that youth although it changes it styles and such the root issues tend to go above time periods. He was awkward. He was like having Groucho thrown into the cast of Saturday Night Live. An inflated self security but based in a high ended outsiderness. Sorry Cube this is a bad one for ya. I would have rather seen another XXX then this.
